Dr. April Fajardo, PT, DPT, is a traveling Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) who currently works at Carondelet St. Mary’s inpatient rehab facility in Tucson, AZ. She currently serves on the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy’s Membership and Public Relations Committee to manage their social media, chairs the subcommittee for internal public affairs, and assists the ANPT mentorship Program. Fajardo also serves as the Global Affairs Chair for the global initiative, PT Day of Service. She was also recently appointed to serve on APTA’s Early Career Team. Fajardo also works as Move Together’s 501(c)(3) Director of Communications.
Fajardo served on 7 international service-learning (ISL) trips: Peru, Guatemala, Brazil (2x), and Haiti (3x). Her dedication to service to the local and global community has been recognized by Southwest Baptist University for the Bill Karl Award, the Missouri Physical Therapy Association for the Outstanding Student Award, the APTA for the Minority Scholarship Award, and the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy for the Early Career Professional Award. The creation of “The Vagabonding DPT” blog was inspired by Tim Ferriss’ Interview with Rolf Potts, author of Vagabonding.
